AB 2634 (Calderon), Continuation Education Quality/Funding Bill, 2000


CCEA is currently sponsoring a new bill, AB 2634, to improve program quality and funding.   Use the links on this page to acquire information regarding the bill and to participate in the successful passing, signing, and implementation of the bill.  


  • For information about the bill and its status, visit  the California Legislative Information Page.  Click the "Bill Information" button and then search for AB 2634.  While on the AB 2634 page you may "Subscribe" to have bill updates emailed to you.

  • View a copy of our generic letter to Senators or Assembly Members requesting funding for AB 2634.  Use these copies to prepare a letter to send to your local Senator or Assembly Member.
  • AB 2634 will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, May 24.  Send support letters to members NOW by fax or email.
    Thanks!  The bill passed appropriations, but without Republican support.
  • AB 2634 will be heard on the Assembly floor as soon as June 1, 2000.  Please contact your Assembly Members requesting support for the bill NOW and continue to do so until the bill passes.  We especially need support from our Republication Assembly Members since there was no Republican support in the Appropriations Committee.
    Thanks Again!  The bill has passed the Assembly and has moved to the Senate.
  • AB 2634 will be heard in the Senate Education Committee on June 28, 2000.  Please contact the committee members.

  • AB 2634 will be heard on the Senate floor in the next few days (by August 31, 2000).  Please contact your senator NOW with a letter or phone call of support for the bill and continue to do so until the bill is passed.  Click here for a list of Senators.  
    Unfortunately, our bill was killed by the Senate Appropriations Committee.  More information regarding this will be posted soon.
