Third Call To Action
California Continuation Education Association


We are asking all CCEA members to write Assembly Budget Subcommittee #2 members urging them to augment the 2001-02 State Budget for K-12 Education by $15 million to fund program improvement components of AB 927 (Goldberg).

 

What can you do?

Contact Assembly Budget Subcommittee #2 members by calling or faxing letters.
First Priority:  Assembly Member Joseph Simitian, Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee #2.
 
Second Priority:  Assembly Budget Subcommittee #2 members.  If you are a constituent, identify yourself as such.  Ask them to fund AB 927 (Goldberg).  Explain the importance of increased continuation funding, particularly at your school, and how your school is helping students at risk of not graduating.  Please see below for details.
 
What you should emphasize in your phone call or letter

Identify who you are and your role within your continuation high school.

Ask the members to augment the 2001-02 State Budget $15 million for the purposes of funding AB 927.

Clearly express how this grant funding for continuation high schools would benefit your program.

Invite them to contact you if they would like more information.
